Elementary School #14 — Phase 1
Plans & Details
Phase I of the ES #14 school was constructed as a result of savings from projects made possible by the 2015 community-approved bond issue. 27J prides itself on being good stewards of the community's investment and is pleased to make this portion of ES #14 an additional project beyond what was promised and budgeted for in the 2015 bond.
This 39,500 SF single-story prototype school will include all your common school amenities, special rooms, art and music rooms, and a gymnasium. The school will also have multiple playgrounds and a synthetic turf field.
Safety is our top priority! On all school projects, JHL utilizes Raptorware for all subcontractors on site, an access and tracking system that scans identification cards (drivers licenses, alien registration cards, green cards, and passports) and immediately conducts a background check with current information. Any person that is flagged by Raptorware will be refused entry to the site. Prior to subcontractor selection, companies are required to sign JHL’s project specific guidelines contract. A requirement of this includes drug testing and background checks for all employees who will be on campus.
Our innovative safety program begins with our safety committee and extends to each and every person who sets foot on a JHL jobsite. We realize that, especially in the construction industry, there has been a discrepancy between practice and policy with regard to on the job safety. Our approach to reconciling that discrepancy is to instill each of our employees with a personal devotion to safety and the dedication to insure that each of our jobsites remains an accident free environment. Our continued success in this endeavor is evidenced by our exceptional Experience Modification Rate of 0.65 and the fact that we recently received the Platinum level national Safety Training and Evaluation Process award from the Associated Builders and Contractors and are a Blue Level AGC CHASE Partner.
JHL’s safety record is one of the best in the industry and we are committed to keeping it that way. JHL has never once had an incident or accident with a student, staff member, or community member on any of our projects.
Health and safety of our employees and project stakeholders remains our highest priority during the COVID-19 situation. We closely monitor guidance from CDPHE, CDC and other state/local agencies and take proactive steps to implement best practices to protect our project stakeholders, their families, and the community. We have increased our health and safety measures across our organization, specifically focusing on preventing the spread of COVID-19, by implementing the policies and procedures available on our website here. We continue to adapt and add to these measures as additional information becomes available.
