JHL Constructors Celebrates Groundbreaking of Douglas County School District Elementary School #51 in Sterling Ranch

Littleton, CO – JHL Constructors is proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of Douglas County School District’s (DCSD) Elementary School #51, a significant milestone for the rapidly growing Sterling Ranch community. The new school will be the first public school in Sterling Ranch.

The 91,000-square-foot facility will serve students from preschool through fifth grade and is planned to accommodate up to 750 students and approximately 100 staff members. Designed by MOA Architecture, the school will feature modern, flexible learning spaces that support academic excellence, collaboration, and strong connections to the surrounding community.

“This project represents more than just a new building. It is an investment in the future of Sterling Ranch and the families who call this community home,” said Brent Traver, Sr. Project Manager at JHL. “We are proud to partner with DCSD to deliver a school that will serve students for generations and reflect the District’s commitment to high-quality education.”

Elementary School #51 represents DCSD’s first newly constructed elementary school in over 10 years. The project reflects the District’s long-term vision for growth and its commitment to providing modern learning environments that meet the needs of today’s students and the communities they serve.

“This groundbreaking is especially meaningful as it marks DCSD’s first new elementary school in more than a decade,” said Kris Kreymborg, Construction Executive at JHL. “We are honored to be entrusted with this project and to partner with MOA and the District to deliver a school that will serve as a lasting asset for Sterling Ranch and support the community as it continues to grow.”

Construction of Elementary School #51 will continue over the coming months, with the goal of welcoming students and staff for the 2027-2028 school year.
