January 2019 – BVSD Transportation Center Grand Opening

Boulder Valley School District, JHL Constructors, Inc., and Stantec celebrated the grand opening of the new BVSD Transportation Center on Friday, January 25, 2019. The new $15 million facility replaced the decades-old “bus barn’ just a half mile away on BVSD’s administration campus on Arapahoe Road. This new facility serves as the operations headquarters for all BVSD’s Transportation needs: dispatch, training, maintenance, washing, and fueling. The project included 11 acres of buildings and bus parking, a 52,000 square foot maintenance facility with office space, a 3,000 square foot bus wash facility, and a diesel and propane fueling station with canopy. Relocating the central transportation hub has boosted safety and efficiency for the District, reduced traffic congestion at the administration campus, and provided the space for the District’s new central kitchen facility that JHL Constructors will be breaking ground on next month. Great job to the entire team! A very successful project all around!
