May 2019 – New Project Awarded, DCSD Alternative High School

JHL has been awarded Douglas County School District’s new project, the Alternative Education High School Facility. The Alternative Education facility will be for current and future use (CTE building and community involvement/programs) including: 150 Student Alternative Education new facility, serving middle school and high school students Grades 6-12, multilevel building to help with age differences. The building will also include small group rooms, testing facilities, meeting rooms, admin office space, parking, large space for assemblies; as well as outdoor spaces for students, flexible space for internships and after school mentoring, teacher work rooms and break areas, arts/visual arts, social emotional competencies and mental health services, breakout rooms, cool down spaces, and nursing/healthcare spaces.
