Englewood, CO – September 18, 2019 – Cherry Creek School District (CCSD), JHL Constructors, and DLR Group celebrated the dedication of the new Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC) on Thursday, September 12. CCIC is a revolutionary educational facility that offers high school students from across the district a curriculum rooted in college preparedness, post-college life skills, and training for trade certifications.

This $45 million,117,000 square foot career-focused campus includes of a variety of learning environments and social spaces from traditional classrooms for instruction, to more intense labs and industry-specific spaces that support real-world training and trade certification programs. The campus supports different pathways for students to explore potential careers or college degrees, including: advanced manufacturing, business services, culinary/hospitality, health services, infrastructure engineering, IT/STEAM, and transportation (aviation and automotive). The center of campus includes an “iCommons” area that features a “TED Talk” multimedia wall, a learning stairway, and a “Grab-n-Go” food and beverage station with items prepared by the culinary students. The building features large glass elements, and an open design where students and staff can see from one end of building to the other. Principal of CCIC, Mark Morgan, spoke about the advanced curriculum and the building that supports it at the dedication, “Our goal is to bring a truly unique work-based learning experience for students seeking a better understanding of themselves as they prepare for life after high school,” he continued “it’s a dream to be able to offer this to our students; it’s a good day to be in the Cherry Creek School District.”

CCSD welcomed the 1,100+ inaugural students to the Cherry Creek Innovation campus on Monday, August 12, kickstarting the Fall 2019 semester.
