The Cherry Creek High School Rebuild Project is Officially Underway

Greenwood Village, CO – JHL Constructors (JHL) is proud to announce the official kickoff of construction on the Cherry Creek High School rebuild project, a transformative multi-year initiative supported by the 2024 Mill and Bond program. The project marks the beginning of a long-term investment in modernizing the Cherry Creek PK-12 campus for future generations of students, educators, staff, and the surrounding community.

The ceremonial kickoff event, held on May 14th, celebrated the start of Phase 1 construction activities, including demolition of the two district administrative office buildings to make way for the new West Building development.

Phase 1 includes replacing the existing West Building with two new facilities designed to support both academic and athletic excellence. The first is a 160,000-square-foot academic building designed in an efficient three-story configuration to support modern learning environments and future flexibility. The second is a 95,000-square-foot athletics-focused facility that will provide upgraded spaces for student athletics, wellness, and campus activities.

The phase also includes redevelopment of parking areas and the creation of a new primary vehicular entrance to campus from Union Avenue, improving circulation and campus accessibility. Upon completion of the new facilities, the existing West Building will be demolished to make room for a new campus quad and future Phase 2 construction.

Construction activities for Phase 1 are now underway and will continue over the coming years as the campus transformation progresses.
