JHL performed the design/build services for this 62,020 square foot renovation of an existing Type 5 Office Building and the addition of a new 9,550 square foot Type 2B gymnasium for the Flagstaff Academy Charter School in the St. Vrain School District. The existing structure, built in the 1980’s, was renovated with high performance mechanical and lighting systems to house the Pre-K, K-8 Charter School. The interior renovation included large classrooms, state-of-the-art technology, and corridors designed as colorful “Main Streets”, giving the elementary and middle schools unique and identifiable “neighborhoods”. To the north of the existing office structure, a new pre-cast concrete gymnasium was added. Additionally, the site was modified to add grass play fields and play surfaces where the parking lots and drives used to be.

Awards: ACE Project of the Year

“We brought in JHL as our design/builder and presented them with our limited budget and our grand vision. JHL completely nailed our vision. JHL always worked hard to solve the problems we had – that were specific to us. Every step of the way, I have felt like we were getting the very best value for every dollar on our project. I can’t say enough about the professionals JHL has had on our job site. I credit JHL with delivering a product I am not sure others could have for the budget we provided them.”
